The snow is melting, the birds are singing, the days are getting warmer, but the weather is NOT cooperating and therefore Elmdale’s annual spring cleanup is CHANGED from Saturday, 21 April to Saturday, 28 April at 10:00 am! Come out with your fellow Elmdale members to help get the club ready for the 2018 season. Coffee, donuts and a pizza lunch will be provided. Additional rakes, gloves, hammers and buckets would be appreciated, so please bring them along if you have them.
We are very excited to announce 2 upcoming events at the club!
1) Steve Stevens Senior National Tennis Championships
This year, the prestigious Steve Stevens Senior Nationals will be taking place in Ottawa, and Elmdale has been selected as one of the host clubs! Between August 21 – 27, courts 4, 5, and 6 will be reserved for tournament matches until roughly 6pm each evening, with a chance of some matches ending later. There will be no summer camps taking place that week.
This national tournament will be attracting some of Canada`s finest tennis players between the ages of 35-85, both men and women. We strongly encourage all members to come on out and enjoy some great tennis viewing!
2) Pig Roast Social
Mark the date! The annual Pig Roast Dinner and Round Robin will be taking place Saturday, August 27th, at 7pm. There will also be a round robin before starting at around 5pm. Tickets are $15, and may be purchased (in cash) at the tennis club! This world-famous meal will consist of slow-roasted pork, salmon, salads, soups, and more. Additionally, lifetime member Leonard Amattey will be launching a new book at the event!
Congratulations to the 2016 Elmdale Tennis Club Singles Champion, Matthew Tran! A special mention to all those who took part in the tournament for providing plenty of quality tennis matches for all to enjoy. Also, a big thank you to all those who came out to watch their fellow Elmdale players throughout the duration of the tournament, displaying constant support and cheers throughout!
See you on the courts,
