Elmdale Tennis Club Code of Conduct

By joining the Elmdale Tennis Club, all members agree to abide by this Code of Conduct, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all members, guests, staff, volunteers, and the Board of Directors.

Respect for Others and the Club

All members and guests must uphold the integrity and values of the club by:

  • Using respectful language and behaviour.
  • Demonstrating good sportsmanship and fairness on and off the court.
  • Adhering to club rules and decisions made by the Board and staff.

Zero Tolerance for Harassment, Bullying, and Discrimination

The club does not tolerate:

  • Harassment: Unwelcome remarks, jokes, or conduct that degrades or intimidates others.
  • Bullying: Repeated, unreasonable behaviour that includes verbal abuse, social exclusion, or physical intimidation.
  • Discrimination: Unfair treatment based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics.

Consequences for Violations

Violations of this Code may result in:

  • Warnings (verbal or written)
  • Temporary suspension
  • Expulsion from the club

The Board reserves the right to take appropriate action based on the severity of misconduct, including immediate expulsion for serious offenses.

Reporting Concerns

Members should report violations to club staff or the Board. Reports will be handled confidentially and addressed promptly.

Policy Revisions and Updates

The Board of Elmdale Tennis Club reserves the right to amend or add to this Code of Conduct and club policies as necessary to reflect the evolving needs of the club and its members. All members are expected to adhere to any updated rules and policies.
